The Wall, el undécimo álbum de estudio de la banda de rock inglesa y uno de los álbumes conceptuales más aclamados de todos los tiempos, es conocido como la ópera rock de Roger Waters, que trata sobre el abandono y el aislamiento personal. Con el diseño gráfico único de Gerald Scarfe, el álbum contiene los sencillos «Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2», un éxito número uno en el Reino Unido y los EE. UU., «Run Like Hell» y «Comfortably Numb». Posteriormente fue adaptado para el cine por Alan Parker, con Bob Geldof en el papel principal de Pink, una estrella de rock hastiada cuyo eventual aislamiento autoimpuesto de la sociedad está simbolizado por un muro.
